Our Quilt Party was a great success! Quilt Party "BAS served it up with style," in the words of one of the happy guests for BAS' Little Quilt Party. More than 108 guests of BAS attended and played bingo, won door prizes, and enjoyed other fun games on March 19, 2006. Illona Hull emceed the event.

Carol Roberts and Emilie Sadowsky helped Maureen Craig (center) run the "BAS Cantina." Nachos, hot dogs, sodas and other snacks were donated. BAS president Lauren Swanger and Illona Hull helped showcase the little quilts. Other BAS volunteers, who with Illona Hull served as chair persons, were Nancy Mosner and Chris Booth.

The party was held at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. BAS especially wants to thank Howard Mosner and the Maryland State Fair staff for their contributions in making the party a success. In spite of the difficulties and because of the tremendous effort by so many people, the Little Quilt Party was great entertainment and outstanding financial success. The preliminary results show that over $3,200 in net proceeds was raised for BAS. Many thanks to the organizers, especially Illona Hull, Nancy Mosner, Chris Booth, and Polly Mello, for their work on this event. Special thanks goes to Illona Hull for creating the "Guessing Games" of the thread spools and the pictures of quilts and for providing prizes for these extra games as well as the many other fine details that she added for this party.
Phyllis Twigg, Carol Bisio, and Kathy Siuta sold tickets for special games. BAS is also grateful to all its members who made and contributed the beautiful, small quilts for this party. Copyright Baltimore Appliqué Society |
